General/Dance Beginnings

Creative Movement is for beginner dancers 3-4 years of age. In this 30-minute class, your child will learn the basics of ballet and tap while experiencing the joy of dance! Our goal is to enrich their lives and teach important concepts like class etiquette, coordination, creativity, counting music, and rhythm. Creative Movement students will have an opportunity to perform at our Winter Showcase as well as a routine at the Spring recital. Join us for a fun and educational class!

Dance Basics class is designed for our 4-5-year-old students and serves as an introduction to several dance styles. Class length increases by 15 minutes from our Creative Movement class, and jazz is introduced. Our 4-5 year old students perform a routine at our Spring recital as well as our Winter Showcase.

Jazz

Youth Jazz is an intro to the fundamentals of jazz dance. Students are introduced to concepts such as strength training, flexibility, improvisation, and showmanship. Students are expected to follow classroom etiquette and arrive prepared for class. Students will learn a jazz routine for both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital. In addition, students will frequently learn upbeat and exciting combinations from past and current artists.

Intermediate Jazz, for students ages 10-14, expands upon the foundational skills learned in Youth Jazz. The curriculum emphasizes flexibility and strength training, while also introducing new techniques such as pirouettes and leaps. Students will learn and practice an exciting jazz routine throughout the year for both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital.

Advanced Jazz students will learn how to blend movement and essential dance elements such as alignment, balance, articulation, flexibility, stability, and breathing. The instructor may also cover topics like nutrition and injury prevention. Students are expected to follow proper classroom etiquette. Advanced Jazz students will perform a jazz routine at both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital. This class requires an instructor's approval before registration.

Lyrical/Contemporary

Youth Lyrical is an intro to lyrical dance for students ages 6-9. This class integrates ballet, jazz, and other styles of dance to create a unique dance style that emphasizes the storytelling aspect of movement in relation to the lyrics or music of a song. Lyrical dance is a highly expressive and enjoyable form of dance that encourages self-expression and creativity. Students will perform a lyrical routine at both the Winter Showcase as well as the Spring recital.

Intermediate Contemporary is for students ages 10-14 and serves as a sequel to Youth Lyrical. This class expands on various dance elements, including contraction, release, spiral, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation. This style of dance has quickly gained popularity and has become one of the most dominant genres among dancers worldwide. Students will perform a contemporary routine for both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital.

Ballet

In this class, students will learn essential concepts like foot and arm positions, body awareness, and articulation. They will also become familiar with proper ballet terminology and are expected to follow classroom etiquette and dress-code.

In Ballet (6-9), you will build upon the skills and techniques learned in Ballet (5-7). This class will cover new concepts such as body positions, working the leg to the back, and a strong emphasis on leaps and turns. To ensure a positive learning environment, students are expected to comply with proper ballet etiquette and adhere to the dress code.

In Ballet (8-11), you will build upon the skills and techniques learned in Ballet (6-9). Our current intermediate level for ballet is Ballet (11+). This level focuses on teaching students valuable concepts such as quality of movement and performance, classical variations, and cross training. Proper ballet etiquette and dress code are expected to be followed by all students in this level.

Our current highest level for ballet is Ballet (14+). Proper ballet etiquette and dress code are expected to be followed by all students in this level.

Our Pre-Pointe/Pointe program is designed for committed ballet students who wish to pursue dancing en pointe. Through these classes, students learn proper alignment, technique, and lower-leg strengthening exercises to prevent any injuries.
*This is a technique class only, no recital routine.
Conservatory Program

The Conservatory Program is intended for students who are highly committed to their dance training and willing to invest additional time and resources to train, perform, and compete.
As part of the program, students must enroll in a Conservatory A (13+yrs), B (9-12yrs), or C (6-9yrs) rehearsal, in addition to their mandatory ballet, jazz, and contemporary classes. Rehearsals for Conservatory A and B are 90 minutes in length, whereas Conservatory C is 60 minutes. During these rehearsals, students will focus on learning and refining their competition routines for the upcoming season.

Hip Hop

Youth Hip Hop students will learn to dance emphasizing musicality, rhythms, and basic dance tricks. This class is exciting, upbeat, and perfect for students who love to perform! Students will enjoy dancing to current hip hop music and perform a hip hop routine at both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital.

Intermediate Hip Hop expands upon the foundational skills learned in Youth Hip Hop. Students can expect to learn fun and challenging combinations weekly, as well as a hip hop routine for both the Winter Showcase and Spring recital.

Designed for experienced dancers, this high-energy class focuses on advanced hip hop technique, musicality, performance quality, and choreography. Dancers will continue to build strength, precision, style, and confidence while learning more complex combinations and exploring a variety of hip hop styles. Prior hip hop experience is required, as this class moves at a faster pace and is intended for dancers with a strong technical foundation.

Tap

The class enhances students' awareness of musical rhythm, introduces basic tap vocabulary, and explores sound differentiation in tap shoes.

The next levels follow the beginning class curriculum. The class consists of perfecting the student's tap technique and musicality, building speeds, and creating more complex patterns of steps.

This class is designed for experienced tap dancers who are ready to take their skills to the next level. Dancers will focus on advanced tap technique, rhythm, speed, musicality, and intricate footwork while learning challenging combinations and choreography. Emphasis is placed on developing clarity of sound, precision, timing, and performance quality. Prior tap experience is required, as this class is fast-paced and intended for dancers with a strong foundation in tap.

Technique Class

This class is designed for dancers with prior dance experience who are ready to continue building and refining their technical skills. Dancers will focus on developing strength, flexibility, balance, control, and proper technique through targeted exercises and across-the-floor progressions.
Classes move at a steady pace while encouraging dancers to improve their execution, confidence, and attention to detail. This class is ideal for students with a solid foundation who are ready to advance their technique in a supportive and challenging environment.
Instructor approval is recommended to ensure dancers are placed at the appropriate level.
